hello, I am new to this community. I'm currently going through the admissions process for LIU [the Brooklyn campus]. I was hoping I could get some insight on standards of being accepted.

-Is it crucial to have great S.A.T scores, or are there other aspects of my transcript that LIU will be looking at to decide whether or not I qualify?

I'd really like to know. thanks.

Like any college, Post looks at everything. SATS/ACTS get you academic scholarships, so the better you do = more $$$ you get. They look at gpa, activities (how committed you were to your activities), and your personal statement.

Good luck :)
See ya around campus! :)

i am in the pharmacy program, it was a little bit of a pain in the but to get into, but regardless i am in. Its a tuff program to, I just started this simester, and its already making me feel like my brain is melting ... lol
how old are you, if you are over 25, i can give you the name of the adult students addmissions person that i delt with, she was very cool. If you are not, I am sure you have the regular contact for addmissions.
drop me a line if you have any question ... I am more to happy to give you any help or advice, since I just went through the whole thing.
best of luck !!

oh my, you might be of great help to me. mhmm, I am really compelled to get into this pre-pharmacy program in the Brooklyn campus, though. and no, sadly I am not over 25. I want to get an early-admission acceptance for freshman yr.

harder as in more paper work, or academically qualifications?

-thanks much!

the brooklyn campus huh ? i chose the LI campus for my 1st 2 years (pre-pharm) because i live out here , and thought 2 years of not having to drive to brookyln would be the wise route. I will ofcourse will be in the brooklyn campus for the last 4, as does everybody in this program, since thats really where the program is, andpost only offers the pre part.
as far as it being tuff to get in, since you are under 25, i think your grades and test scores will count alot more. but thats not to say you cant get in. be sure to get your recomindations papers to submit with you application.
let me know if yah have any other questions
